A bee once fell into the water and would have drowned had a pigeon not seen it, and, plucking a leaf off a branch, held it out to it. The bee crawled out onto the leaf and was saved.
On the following day the pigeon was sitting on the bough of a tree when a hunter came to the forest and made to shoot it. But the bee saw him, flew up to him quickly and stung his hand. The hand shook, the pellets flew aside, and the pigeon was unharmed.
So is a kindly deed repaid in kind.
